The DDOS attack has been mitigated and the affected servers have since recovered. If you are unable to use any of your services, please contact us via support ticket and let us know so we can check for you. Thank you.

  • EMERGENCY NOTICE

This is a notice to all HostSG customers. Unfortunately, we’ve been subjected to a series of very heavy DDOS attacks. These attacks have caused disruptions to some of our services. If you are unable to access your email or web site, you are likely affected.

Our network engineers have since dealt with the attack. However, we are still in the process of recovering our servers fully after this. We sincerely apologize for this and will provide updates as we have more information. Thank you for your patience.

  • 5am Update

All services are currently back online. Should any customer require assistance, please contact us via our ticketing system at https://manage.hostsg.com/

    Thank you.

  • 1.45am Update

To all customers, please note that there will be a 30 minute downtime of all services expected between 2.00am to 3.30am.

We will be powering down all servers in the datacentre.

This is to allow the cleaners to clean the main power feed area for safety reasons to ensure there is no debris or remaining water spots.

We will be providing an update once the job is completed and we have powered up the servers.

    Thank you.

  • Important Update

We would like to provide you with an important update regarding the recovery of our hosting services.

We have successfully restored services for the following hosting plans:

    • DNS Hosting Services
    • Starter Hosting Services
    • Business Cloud Hosting Services
    • Business Linux Hosting Services
    • Cloud Sites Hosting Services
    • Cloud Email Hosting Services
    • Budget Hosting Services
    • VPS Linux/Windows Services
    • Dedicated Server Solution A and B
    • Linux/Windows Business Dedicated

Customers using any of these services can now proceed to connect to their servers without issue.

    Regarding other services:

    • Dedicated Server Solution C

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to power up these servers due to a lack of available cooling systems. The datacentre’s air conditioning has been affected by soot, and powering up all servers simultaneously may cause further issues. A cleaning crew is on-site working to repair and clean the cooling system, but this process will take some time.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this period.

    Important Notice to ALL Customers:

    Server Reboot:
There will be a scheduled reboot of ALL servers between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM. A short downtime of approximately 30 minutes is expected. This reboot is essential to prevent data corruption and ensure a proper shutdown/restart of services.

    HostSG Portal/Ticketing System:
Our portal and ticketing system will be available some time tonight as we power up the server for these services. If you need to renew your domain, you can either proceed via the portal (credit card payment) or open a ticket, and our team will assist you.

Although most services are back online, we will continue to post critical updates on our website and Facebook page as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your patience and continued trust in HostSG. We remain committed to restoring full service as quickly as possible and will keep you informed throughout this process.

  • Latest Update

    Update #6 (7:00pm):
The electrician has updated us that a device needs to be installed to stabilize the incoming electricity feed for safety reasons and this requires a couple of hours. As such, the powering up of our servers will need to push back until the device is installed.

We will provide more updates once we have more information.

    Update #5 (6:25pm):
We are currently in the data center to assess any damages to our servers and server racks. We are waiting for the electrician to ensure power safety to our racks before we boot up our servers.

We will provide more updates shortly

    Update #4 (4:30pm):
Our data center has received clearance to power up and are now checking on every segment of their power system for safety purposes. We will update again in 2 to 3 hours.

  • Management’s Update:

    Dear Customers of HostSG,

We regret to inform you that our services, including our website, email, and portal, are temporarily unavailable due to a fire that occurred at the opposite side of the data center housing our servers. While our servers and customer data do not appear to be damaged, we cannot confirm the status of the systems until power is restored.

    KEY UPDATES

    Current Status:
The fire occurred at another user’s server rack which is located at the other end of the datacentre, away from HostSG’s server racks, so no direct damage to our infrastructure or customer data is currently suspected. However, due to power and safety concerns, services cannot be restored until the power is back on.

    Backups:
For services with daily backups (e.g., Starter, Business Hosting), please be assured that backups are stored in a different data center more than 10 km away. However, please note that while the data is safe, the backup data cannot be restored yet, as the backup data center currently lacks the necessary compute resources (CPU) for the restoration process. The restoration of such a large volume of data will take several days.

    Safety Concerns:
Water and smoke damage are still major concerns on the affected floor. As per building management and SCDF (Singapore Civil Defence Force) regulations, no access is allowed until both hazards are cleared.

    Next Steps:
HostSG is awaiting an update from the data center provider on the estimated timeframe for power restoration at 3-4pm. Once we receive an update:

    • If power is restored within a reasonable timeframe, we will continue to monitor the situation and wait for full restoration.
    • If power restoration will take longer than expected, we will begin plans to move our servers to another data center. Please note that this process will also take several days to complete, as it requires careful logistical planning and coordination.

At this moment, our hands are tied as we await the necessary updates. We understand how critical these services are to your operations, and we are committed to doing everything we can to restore services as soon as possible.

    What You Can Expect:
You will receive further updates from us as soon as we have more information about the power restoration status and our next steps.

Please refresh our website page for more of the latest updates.

We sincerely apologize for the disruption and appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging situation. Your trust and satisfaction are important to us, and we are working tirelessly to resolve this issue.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

  • NOTICE:

    Update #3 (11.30am):
The building management and SCDF is currently draining out the water and smoke from the building. The next update given by them will be between 3-4pm. We will try to push for an update as soon as possible.

    Update #2 (11:00am):
The fire has been put out by SCDF but access is still not allowed as they are still clearing the area.

    Update #1 (9:00am):
    https://www.straitstimes.com/…/one-taken-to-hospital…

This is a notice to all HostSG customer.

WebSatMedia which is our datacentre located at Chai Chee Road has an electrical issue which causes a fire to be started.

SCDF is currently on scene and has shut down the power to the entire building. They have also restricted all access to the building.

From what we understand, our servers (your data) is not caught/damage by the fire. However as power is down to the entire building, all services are disrupted.

We are currently waiting for SCDF to give clearance to access our servers to boot them up.

We sincerely apologize for this and will provide updates as we receive more news from SCDF.

    Thank you.
